GLEN ROCK VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE CORPS MAY BE  CURE FOR

EMPTY NEST SYNDROME

The kids are gone and you are alone.  The once noisy house is quiet; you can hear the ticking of the clock.  Maybe its time to replace that tick, tock, tick, tock with the beep! beep! beep! of a pager!!!!

EMT classes stimulate the mind and teach you valuable skills.  Joining the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps (GRVAC) gives you the opportunity to meet new people, be involved, and join an organization that prides itself for its community service.

Attending monthly drills and business meetings will get you out of that empty house.  You will be able to interact with our members who are all ages and come from all walks of life.  We are high school students, young parents, retired professionals, nurses, teachers, and yes, empty nesters.

Many of our members form lasting friendships; duty crews meet to have coffee, discuss the week’s events, do rig check or just hang out together.

Each call is different, each drill is informative and our business meetings are lively.  We can assure you that it is one decision you won’t regret.

Whose house is quiet now?

Empty nesters Robin Kaplan, Tom Ludlum, Ron Jemal, Paul & Diane Herrlett, and Dave Behar enjoying each other’s company after a meeting.

For information on joining the GRVAC, call Chief DeLaat at 201-444-9795 or visit the join section of our website, www.grvac.org/join.htm.  The next class starts in June.
