GRVAC Member Colleen Dalton Visits Jamaica on Medical Mission
On October 14, GRVAC member Colleen Dalton, who is a nursing student at Sacred Heart University (SHU), travelled with two professors and 11 other nursing students on a medical mission trip to Kingston, Jamaica. For one week, the SHU contingent worked with PRN Relief International to provide medical care to low resource villages and communities in Jamaica.
Prior to her trip, GRVAC members donated money and purchased basic medical supplies for the SHU team to bring with them to Jamaica to stock the dozen clinics they visited on their trip. As a result of these and other donations, Colleen and other nursing students helped run five clinics and saw 900 adult and 100 pediatric patients during the week they visited Jamaica.
Over the Christmas break, GRVAC members will welcome Colleen back home in Glen Rock and we look forward to her filling in on ambulance shifts during her holiday break.
