It gives me great pleasure to recognize an individual that has given so much of his life’s time to EMS. My accolades are meant to highlight the EMS career of Edward Esposito, of the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Let me first start by thanking Ed for making EMS a better place for me and my colleagues at the GRVAC.
Ed has amassed 52 years of longevity in EMS. His career started in 1970 with the Ridgefield First Aid Ambulance Corps. He moved to Glen Rock in 1976 and immediately joined the GRVAC. Ed has held many titles including President for four years, Captain/Chief for sixteen years, Vice Chairperson for East Bergen Ambulance Association, and Mobilization Director of the Northern Area for the NJSFAC. |

I have known Ed for at least twenty five years. As a colleague, I have witnessed many of Ed’s accomplishments. They have included, vehicle and equipment acquisitions; building expansions; managing communications and technology; recording, calculating, and distributing LOSAP; writing protocols, procedures, and by-laws. Ed’s contributions at business meetings are invaluable. For those of you who have been around for a while will understand what I mean when I say, “Us Old Timers”. It has many meanings. Sometimes it means hard-headed pain in the butt, but sometimes it means “I really know”. Well in Ed’s case, he usually does know. He knows everything about our By-laws and Rules and Regulations; he wrote them. Same with our Administrative Procedures. Having had the opportunity to argue with Ed has been a lot of fun. Having the opportunity to walk out the door, after an argument and enjoy our friendship, is even more fun. All NJ squads would be blessed to have their own Ed Esposito. Thank You for your service.
