The GRVAC Celebrates Diane Herrlett's 40 Years of Service
May 7, 2022
The Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps is proud to announce that Diane Herrlett, current President of the GRVAC, is celebrating 40 years of service. A forty year tenure is quite an accomplishment considering the many years of service contributions Diane has given to the town of Glen Rock. In addition to the GRVAC, some of Diane's other contributions include being a member of the planning board, historical society, and church administration positions.
Diane has held the position of President of the GRVAC, on and off for sixteen years. As President, Diane is tasked with the administrative duties that keeps the GRVAC moving forward. The position of President is elected yearly, so that in itself shows the confidence, year after year, the GRVAC has in her ability to lead the organization. As President, Diane is a defacto member of each committee and oversees each to make sure each is running according to the GRVAC's high standards. In addition to her administrative duties, Diane continues to ride. Diane has had the opportunity to serve with many shifts; most notably the "Tuesday Night Crew". In Diane's forty years, she has, and continues to help Glen Rock neighbors when they are in danger of medical or traumatic emergency.
Diane's best partner on the GRVAC was her beloved husband Paul, who we unfortunately lost in 2010. When Paul and Diane got married, they purchased her parents' house in Glen Rock. As a way to meet people, Paul joined the GRVAC. They socialized and enjoyed the camaraderie of GRVAC couples. The wives became a close knit group. As time went on, the wives joined too and formed a strong bond and support system through good and bad times.
At the GRVAC Installation Ceremony, a plaque was presented to Diane for her 40 years of service. This plaque will proudly hang on the GRVAC's Wall of Honor. The award was presented by the most appropriate awarder, Edward Esposito. Ed, is the only other member of the GRVAC, that can point to his own 40 year plaque.
